I have been obese since childhood. I was always "big.". I played football in high school and weighed 275 pounds. When I decided to have the surgery I weighed over 375 pounds. i wsa 50 yeas old and feeling like I was 70. I had no energy and i was taking medication for high blood pressure, diabetes, and gout. Since my surgery everything has changed. WOW! I have lost 120 pounds. I am off all of my previous medications, i walk 2 to 3 miles a day an dam loving life. I cannot tell you how good I feel. I was a person in denial for the longest time, until one morning when I could not hardly walk to the bathroom because of knee pain. That is when I looked into this surgery and began the journey. I have never felt beter. The pain in my joints are gone. I have nnot had to take the blood pressure medicine since the day after surgery. I would recommend this surgery to anyone who is ready to make the lifetime change. This is not a "quick fix", but a "life changing experience." My life has not been this abundant in years. I am much happier.. always smiling and as friends and family say.. I am a changed person. I have lost 110 lbs and dropped from a size 22W to a 4 Petite. Just remember to take care of ourself first. You can do this as well. If you are reading this I hope that you choose to follow your heart and stay focused.

Dr. Bauman is the best! After trying every diet and failing, I decided to take action. I was diabetic but after loosing over 105 pounds, I have had no meds for this since the day of surgery! I have not been sick once and have so much energy. I only wish I had done it sooner!

Before my surgery, I hated to see myself in famliy pictures, vacation videos and dressing room mirrors. I now have confidence and a higher self esteem. I tried for years to lose weight by joining programs, food diets, exercise videos an gyms without much success. Fed up and ready for a change, I looked into gastric by-pass surgery. After a year of discussing with my family, researching and finding the right physician I decided to go ahead. It was the best decision I ever made! I am now healthy and happier as a Mom, Wife, and as an individual. Shoppinf for new clothes is now fun. I also no longer fear the video camera or dressing room mirrors. I LOVE THE NEW ME!!!

This has been a TERRIFIC YEAR! I had the Lap Band surgery a year ago and hav not regreted the decision for one secord. The lap band is definitely the tool that I needed to reach my goal. I feel better that I have in years and can keep up with my teenage kids. Exercise is no longer a chore, it is a way of life. I wish I would have made this decision years earlier but Thrilled that I did last year.

Having gastric by-pass was the best thing I have done. Dr. Bauman and his staff have been wonderful and caring the entire way. They do a very good job educating their patients along the journey of weight loss. I always knew what to expect and kenw that even when the office was closed they were only a phone call away!
